Does anyone else love the scene where Murray starts to introduce Aurther and he starts to make fun of him. The music the look from Aurther, the dance and thr music before the curtain lifts is just simply incredible. Cholera. Choker artist. Choker singer. Choker necklace designs. Do I love this movie or hate it? I was extremely disturbed as I watched the main character, Arthur Fleck, being abused, laughed at, and ignored as his mental health spiraled downwards into a very dark abyss. What made the movie more disturbing was that this could happen to anyone under an unfortunate set of circumstances. As Fleck (the Joker) became more an more unbalanced, the mental health care system was portrayed as virtually non-existent. But perhaps this is closer to the truth in real life. This movie was a very dark view of the mental health care system, and a warning of what can, and will, happen if we do not respect the mental health care system and the people who work within it. I felt the entire movie was done in poor taste, and yet I was further disturbed by the number of audience members who actually laughed at Arthur Fleck and his unfortunate circumstances. It is a grim view of how many people still view those with mental health issues.
